Why is Beauty Important to Me?

Posted by Anna Ekpo on

My ultimate goal in the beauty industry, is to help women feel confident, and to be the best version of themselves. Do you remember talk shows in the 80s, and 90s, and early 2000s (Me neither. I’m not old enough. 😉)?  Every talk show would have a makeover segment, or an entire makeover show.  Oprah, Donahue, Sally Jessie Raphael, Rickie Lake, Tyra Banks, they all had one. And before the “you’re not the father” and “the lie detector determined” shows, Maury had his infamous “geek to chic” makeovers.

After the makeover, the most amazing transformation was the woman’s glow. Her smile was bright and broad, she stood up straighter, her eyes shined, she walked with confidence and self-assurance. That was the most beautiful and awe-inspiring thing to me. The glow up was real. The true transformation was on the inside. She changed her mind about how she saw herself. She changed her mind about what she thought of herself. Her beauty was truly in the confidence and happiness that was radiating from within once she felt content with her appearance.  That’s the power of makeup, it’s transformative. That’s one of the multitude of reasons why I love makeup.

Not every woman wants a full face of makeup, but most women feel their best when they look their best. Many times women feel fabulous when they have on a little something to accentuate their features or an adornment of some sort, they’re having a good hair day, or they have an awesome Ekposé Beauty Instant Mani. For better or for worse, the details of our appearance make a difference in how we approach our day, our mood, how we view ourselves, what we say to ourselves, and what we think about ourselves. Everything starts with a thought. Our thoughts and self-talk are critical. Our thoughts create our reality, and they shape our quality of life. When you change you mind, you can revolutionize your existence.
